Bicycle Mechanics - Wipperman 10-Speed Chains

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Any Campy riders out there use these? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but Wipperman's don't need a chain tool to break them open, but rather have a master link ala Sachs/SRAM chains. I don't want to buy another tool just to remove my chain so I'm considering replacing my Campy chain with a Wipperman.
I'd be interested in hearing how well they wear and shift, too. Thanks in advance for your help.

They use what they call a CONNEX link that works like the SRAM PowerLink. You will still need a 10 speed compatible chain tool to remove your existing chain and shorten the new one to the right number of links.
I don't have a Campy 10 group but I did just recently replace the SRAM PC99 on my MTB with a Wipperman Connex 908 chain and am much pleased so far. See this thread (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=49523) for more detail.
wipperman 10 is the best! Works great with the campy setup

I am using a CONNEX link with a Campy chain and have had no problems with it yet, about 1500 miles.
