Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - What companies sell fixed gear bikes

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Assuming you mean frames as well as complete bikes, here's a few. Also, many get lumped in the SS category but there is nothing that really distinquishes a frame from being fixed or single until it's assembled and a lot of people use them for both.

Click here (http://www.63xc.com/links/links.htm) and look under "bikes and framesets".

Big list here (http://www.mtbr.com/faq/ssfaq.shtml#ssMfgrsBikes)

And some more here (http://www.singlespeedoutlaw.com/issue5/links.shtml#Hardware).

Bound to be some overlap between the lists, but it's a start

Off the top of my head, Surly Steamroller......Kogswell......Soma......
I believe they're sold as complete bikes as well. I'm sure there are others.

The Urbane Cyclist http://www.ucycle.ca here in Toronto has a "house brand" fixie frameset. If you want, they'll build it up for you.

For anyone in Toronto, this is probably your best bet for fixie/SS stuff. Knowledgeable staff, excellent karma and courier discounts. Last time I was in they were discounting high end locks to get people to stop buying crap and getting their bikes ripped off.

Thanks for the info, hard to find any places in T.O. that are into s/s and fixed. Any other places that you are aware of that cater to this?

Trying hard to envisage a 'populace' on fixies here. Anyone else?

I saw an ad today for a new fixed gear bike that Specialized is selling, I think called the Langer, at under $500.
