Touring - Starting the planning for this years tour

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

The new year has come so now I am planning this years tour. I do a week long tour not too far from home. First year was SAGBRAW, second year was from River Falls, WI (where I now live) to Woodstock, IL (where I grew up) third year was along the IL/WI border, last year was south western WI. This year I am looking into the tri state region of WI/MN/IA. There is an organized ride that I might "borrow" the route from, or I just might get lazy and sign up and let them haul my gear. I can always change my mind, (usually several times!) before summer gets here.....:thumb:
Why go South when you can go North? I started and ended my Lake Superior trip from where I live (Menomonie, hello neighbor!) and found the shoreline in Northern Wisconsin to be gorgeous.
That said, I'm planning on taking some shorter trips in your general direction this summer.
Must be West Central Wisconsin Home Week, eh?
Hi folks...also from Menomonie and looking forward to my first touring season.

Hey Neighbors! From Deerfield Illinos here. Land of Political Corruption. I'm taking a tour around the Grand Illinois Trail this spring. Next year, the Adventure Cycle North Lakes tour around the top of Lake Michigan and then ferry across to Menominee. Good Luck and Go Brewers!:thumb:

Here is a tip:
I live in Menomonie, WI. We have a small state university located here, UW- Stout. A story surfaces every now and then in these parts and I suspect it dates back to the year the telephone was invented.
It goes something like this.
The Dean of Students phone rings. When answered the caller states, "I am to speak at the student forum in an hour and need directions how to get to the campus." The Dean asks, "Where are you now". The caller provides the name of a business that is not know to the Dean. It is soon determined that the caller/speaker is actually in Menominee, MI and not Menomonie, WI.
LOL - true or not I do not know. But beware when planning your trip.
