Can someone explain the advantages of riding a wider tire in the front, and more narrow in the back?

Better chance of missing the dog poo the second time.

Wide front - better cornering and control
Narrower rear - supposedly better acceleration

I run a narrower rear b/c that's all that my frame will fit.

Sometimes...sometimes not. Depends on the conditions of the trail.

Right now, I'm running:
1. Nevegal's 2.35 R / 2.5 F
2. Knarly 2.1 R / Excavator 2.35 F
3. Klaw 2.1 R / Excavator 2.35 F
