So all of you New York racers pay attention!
Gov Paterson has proposed cutting the entire budget for the Empire State Games (1.7mil dollars). However the state office is still requiring that the ESG's continue, just without any state funding. This will probably mean that many of the sports will be cut and that there will be some pretty hefty entry fees ($300+). For anyone who has competed in the ESG's it really is a blast and it is a shame to see this happen.
I urge NYS residence to contact Gov Paterson and their local state legislator with a letter of support to keep state funding for the games. That is all!
