I'm in the market for a charger for 18650 batteries. I'm looking for the following features:

Automatic cutoff so i don't have to babysit it
Charge cells relatively quickly (in the neighborhood of 5hrs for a 2500mah cell, is that unreasonable?)
Charge 4 cells at a time rather than just 2 (i'll take a 2-cell charger if i have to though)
Preferably be able to order from within North America (I need this sooner rather than later, but if you can only find it in Hong Kong or I'll consider it)

I like this one (http://www.batteryspace.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1421) because it handles 18650 and CR123, but it the charge time is listed as Battery Capacity (mAh) x 1.5 / Charging Current (mA), which puts it in the 8-10 hour range.

If you don't know of a charger that does all of that, what charger are you using for your 18650s that you really like?

I thought you don't need an automatic cutoff if your batteries are protected. Isn't that right?

I just bought the 6105 from DX, but I haven't received it yet. It only charges two batteries, but it gets good reviews for the price.

People who are serious RC racing enthusiasts tend to use chargers that are very effective. They seem to use chargers and batteries that are the best available (within reasonable cost limits).

Their websites and forums might have some good information, including the most reputable manufacturers, whose websites probably have some useful information.

If you find anything, please let us know.

Considering the low cost having automatic shutoff is just a nice additional feature.

The dsd charger is fine, but unlike what Ron Popeil says "set it and forget it" is not how you should treat Li-Ion 18650 batteries.. These batteries can be prone to overcharging and they will vent with FLAME..

If you want the best charger look at spending some money and getting the Pila charger..

I have the same one but for only a few weeks now. At least it does not have any reviews of explosions unlike the other one at the Dealextreme site :)
