Weather permitting (e,g,m no ice storms), I'll be riding next weekend from Middletown, NY to High Point State Park in NJ. I was planning to take the train all the way to Port Jervis, but that's not an option given when the trains run. (I'll need to make two conenctions, leaving from work at noon.) My other option is to leave work around 7 and get there at 10, not an attractive prospect. (I'm taking the afternoon off on Friday.)
All this is really to get me to the start of the High Point to Cape May route; I plan to ride it for two days, down to around Bridgewater to see my sister and her family.
Does this route make any kind of sense?

In particular:
Mile 0, Middletown - The more direct route would be to head north from the train station and take 211, but it looks pretty bike-unfriendly from the satellite views. If 211 is doable, I could take it to Carpenter Ave after crossing rt 17, then take East Main through East Middletown, making my way to Wawayanda Avenue and CR 49.
Miles 6 - 17 - How is route 6 for biking? It looks like it's direct but a little dull.
Thanks!
