on my old single speed coaster brake Huffy beach cruiser.

It was a nice little ride, in my humble opinion.

On a single speed beach cruising coaster? Wow, good one! Hope you were riding the flats in Florida and not the mountainous parts of Idaho!

No, you must be mistaken. A ride of that distance can't possibly be accomplished without a carbon frame, a 10 speed Dura Ace, Record or Red drivetrain, a name brand wheelset with about a dozen or so spokes per wheel, a full pro team kit, a Garmin GPS with HRM and a personal trainer working you through a detailed training schedule to prepare you for such an event. (Where's that "tongue-in-cheek" smilie when you need it?)
Or maybe all you need is any bicycle and the determination to keep pedaling until the desired miles are done.

Good job. :thumb:

Wow... impressive! Well-done. I, for one, would like more details. It MUST have been quite an all-day adventure. Tell us the story, o great one! :)

Um....excuse me but I seem to have trouble equating 65 miles on a single speed, coaster brake Huffy beach cruiser with a "nice little ride"!

I mean, not to cut down Huffy, but 65 miles on that would be "Cycling Hell".......in my humble opinion!

Does it also have a basket and tassles off the bar grips????

65 miles on a Huffy cruiser has to be equivalent to a double century on a normal road bike! Great job!

That's what I take an entire week to do
neither in Idaho, nor in Florida
and not on a Huffy.

I don't know about that. Compared to the 9 hours I've just spent at the office, it sounds like quite a pleasant diversion. :twitchy:

FINALLY!!! A man who can do the math! I knew that all along.:innocent:

Good job, and thanks for the reminder that it's more about the will than the bike.

Thanks, I'm going to try for 100 miles on it tomorrow, 50 miles or so today should be a nice warm up, I have to go to storage (23 miels each way) plus do a little exploring, and I get MUCH better mileage than the 1 ton Chevy does.

Drat! Did not even get to go 15 miles! Got called into work which kinda murdered the plans for a bike ride :( Oh well maybe this weekend I'll be able to go ride.
