I've planned routes in a few of these sites (mapmyride and veloroutes) and have a little bit of a feel for the limitations in terms of total elevation gain and grade. The sites seem to do an ok and somewhat consistent job with respect to distance, elevation and elevation gain, but grade seems questionable. I'm particular concerned about grade since there is a big difference in being able to climb all day on a 4-5% grade versus handling 1/2 mile at 11%. Any opinions/observations as to which of the various sites seems to do the best job in this area?
