well, it's like i was given a link to the calendar of races here in NC and thats been it. no mention of training or anything. wolfpack classic race 2/14 & 15, i plan on being there, but have no clue whether anyone else will be....i just thought there would be more interaction or something.

Well, the guys I know at IOS are all 2s on what I assume is considered their elite team, and I usually see them out doing their own thing in or near Chapel Hill. I don't know what they have for a lower-category team, so I can't really speak to it. However, ilpirata87 on the board is a member of their cat 2 team, so perhaps you could check in with him with whatever questions you have about them.

My girlfriend is on IOS' multisport elite team (triathlon etc), and from what I can tell they are much more highly organized than the cycling-only side.

yea, there's only 4-5 women on a newly formed cycling team and the majority of those are triathletes, which i'm not. i'm friends with a couple of the guys at the store and 1-2 of the women, but i'm not getting any input ....oh well...need to figure out what i'm gonna do once the thumb/ribs are healeed.

I was on IOS with ilpirata87 last year, but that team is only one of the IOS teams (the Zaytoun and Miller law firm is the main sponsors of the cycling-specific team). There were a lot of Cat 2,3, and 4 riders last year, but I wasn't aware of many females.

I'm heading up the Paceline Bicycles team this year, it's the shop I work for part-time, and we're trying to build the team up into something bigger than before. We've had a really good response at our first team meeting, so hopefully it'll be a good year.

We'd love to have you on Paceline, but we're out of Greensboro and Winston-Salem- likely going to all the races you're doing, but training in Greensboro on a regular basis likely wouldn't appeal to you too much (assuming you're in the Triangle).

As I mentioned, if anyone is interested in a no nonsense, race what you want, when you want kind of team that has some solid sponsorship perks and best of all, that spreads a positive message...feel free to check out TeamTOMSshoes.blogspot.com and send me a message at teamTOMS@ymail.com
