I am wondering about a CCM Elan.

Looks like this one - which is listed as a 1972.

The three speed hub seems to shift nicely and all appears solid. The tires are not even very worn, and I wouldn't be surprised if they are OEM, although I don't know that for a fact in any way.

Slight rust on the head tube.
BB appears to be a cast piece !
Did not see a serial number.

What kind of $$ is this bike worth. Was thinking of picking it up.

Here in Toronto, they are pretty cheap at Goodwills and Value Villages, probably about $30 or so.

On CL, it is another matter; they will hit $120 or more.

I bought a very nice example for $20. I gave it to my sister in law who lives in Toronto.

Thanks for the replies.

I passed on it for 2 reasons;

1: my wife wanted a "ladies" step through frame cruiser. (this one has a top bar)
2: I found a different one the next day and bought it instead.

Norco Sekine - with the Nexus 4 speed internal hub gears.
A new shifter cable, some spit polish, and it's looking pretty nice and ready for spring.

She's pleased as can b... (happy wife = happy life) :-)
