I ordered a mounting hardware kit for the rear shock that's going on my MTB frame. The kit was specific to Rock Shox. I'm wondering if I also need to get new bolts (they may be worn, and it would be nice to have a spare in case I stip the threads on one). Where do I find such bolts? I know they are M8 thread, and I can measure the length I need, but where can I get bolts that are sufficiently strong for this application?

Your shop can order the specific hardware for your frame but if you have a fastener shop in your area they may be able to hook you up locally. Don't worry about whether the bolts are "sufficiently strong". Unless you're bottoming out really hard on a regular basis, most of the energy is being dissipated by the shock and not being absorbed by the hardware. Buy some good stainless hardware and put it together.
