A possible tour idea for history buffs - recreate an Underground Railroad trip. Adventure Cycling has no copyright on the idea, although it appears they did a great job with their UR route.

One route I'm looking at for this summer is a tour from Wilmington, Delaware to Reading, PA, following a route plotted from among the list of 'stations' provided in books on the UR in PA. Harriet Tubman was 'conductor' on several trips from Delaware, and I'm thrilled that I might be following in the footsteps of 'Moses.'

How many miles would that be? Sounds like a great idea. I couldn't do it this year. I'm already planning a "historical" tour myself - following the route of the Corps of Discovery from Portland, Oregon to Great Falls, Montana. I've been reading up on Lewis and Clark. I think it will be fun to see the sights and know something about what went on in the past that was historically significant.

On my tour last summer I met a guy in Glacier N. P. who was riding west from Buffalo, N. Y. He had no historical slant to his route, but said he stopped at every historical marker along the way. It was one of his favorite parts of his tour and he had learned so much about the history of the country.

Are you being sarcastic about AC having a copyright, or can you actually copyright a cycle route? If so thats BULLSH!T

It was a joke. I thought it would be taken as such.

Calm down. AC can, of course, copyright their maps and other tour material. Anyone can make up their own maps of the same route, or use the same idea as the central concept for a tour.
