I love a Pepsi in a tall glass of ice. Coke, not so much. To me, Pepsi seems more refreshing when I'm parched.

Coca-Cola
Lot of family history with the Candlers.

One example:
As a child my mother's best friend was Nancy Candler (Asa Candler's granddaughter) and was kidnapped because she was mistaken for Nancy.
The kidnappers held her for three days and finally let her go after they realized they had the wrong kid.

Pepsi tastes chemically to me.

I used to drink Coke, but I drink soda so infrequently, at this point, I drink it just to remind myself why I don't drink it. :p

No doubt. Much better than the corn syrup. Corn syrup is one of the worst things ever invented.

The last time I had a soda was probably about a year and a half ago. I used to be a Mt Dew addict, so if I had to choose between the two brands, I'd go with Pepsi.

I love Coke but I only have one or two cans a month. I used to be addicted to it in university but the amount of sugar in it is a killer.

Never liked Pepsi.

The funny thing is, I'm sucking down limeade. Has about as much nastyness as those two, but it doesn't have the syrup taste to it.

Mello Yellow when I can find it. Only two places that I know have locally: one Subway location and the Incredible Pizza.

BTW, Dr. Pepper is neither a Coke or Pepsi product, even though both bottle/distribute. Here in NE OK, Dr. Pepper is part of the Pepsi line-up. On the road to TN/NC, I discovered that it was distributed by Coke.

EDIT to add: Also just about anything that my brother-in-law cares to share. He owns a liquor store.

Quoth Wikipedia:

Manufacturer: Dr Pepper Snapple Group (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr_Pepper_Snapple_Group) (formerly Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages) (previously Dr Pepper/Seven Up (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr_Pepper/Seven_Up))/The Coca-Cola Company (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Coca-Cola_Company) (Europe only)

Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc. (formerly Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages) is an American soft beverages drink company, which was spun off from Britain's Cadbury Schweppes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadbury_Schweppes), on 2 May (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_2) 2008 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008), with trading in its shares starting on 7 May (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_7) 2008. Cadbury Schweppes plc became Cadbury plc (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadbury_plc) on 2 May 2008.

...so it's no surprise that no one knows who makes it.

If these are the choices then I choose Pepsi! I, however, like Dr. Pepper. I like it in a glass bottle and made with cane sugar. Hell, I pay more but good soda in a glass bottle without corn syrup is well worth it!

I am from Texas, where all carbonated beverages are referred to as "coke".

First you ask someone if they want a coke. If they say yes, you ask them what kind. Coke, pepsi, rootbeer, etc. Just list off what type of drinks you have and then they will tell you what kind of coke they want.

I am from Texas, where all carbonated beverages are referred to as "coke".I thought it was pretty funny that "soda" became "pop" the second I crossed the border into Colorado.

Damn people not knowing how to pronounce or spell soda...

I am from Texas, so Coloradoans do not offer us anything to drink. Wait, I take that back. I have been told "drink this" as the speaker grabbed his privates whilst in Colorado. Typically, you are just seated and ignored until you leave the restaurant.

Diet Coke. But I'm almost weaned off of it completely. Now I pay large amounts of cash for carbonated water without the chemicals and artificial sugar and coloring.

Yeah, Kum & Go did their Soda vs Pop promotion to figure out what everybody wanted to call their drinks. The winner? Sodapop.

I'm telling ya, try a little cover-up over the Texas tattoo on your face, and wear a hat, shirt, pants, shoes, underwear, and socks that aren't emblazoned with a Texas emblem and you might get served. :p

Yeah, Kum & Go did their Soda vs Pop promotion to figure out what everybody wanted to call their drinks. The winner? Sodapop. They could call it "throatwarbler mangrove" and I'd still shop at a Kum & Go just for the name.

Schweppes Lemonade, Dry Ginger Ale or Ginger Beer. Bundaberg Ginger Beer.

Coke is tolerable occasionally if mixed with Raspberry. Sprite is ok if I can't get the Schweppes. Lemonade with lime juice is nice.

Pepsi is just nasty.

Oh, and I don't bother with the diet ones. They sweetener they use to replace the sugar makes them taste worse.

Oh, and I don't bother with the diet ones. They sweetener they use to replace the sugar makes them taste worse. In the US, they aren't sweetened with sugar, but high-fructose corn syrup. Both diet and regular colas here taste like chemicals, and I find the regular kind actually harsher than the diet.

Blargh, that must make them absolutely vile if they taste worse than the diet ones. Our fizzy soft drinks aren't healthy, but at least they still use proper sugar in them. :twitchy:

I grew up in Chicago, and not only did we use "pop", but also "Coke" as a generic term.

"Could you grab me a Coke?"
"Sure, what kind?"
"Uh, a Sprite."

Blargh, that must make them absolutely vile if they taste worse than the diet ones.An opinion that many probably don't share due to me being more used to the diet versions, but I can always tell immediately if I end up with a non-diet. Yech.

Pepsi blue was the best. In tastes Pepsi is better but I only drink Dr.Pepper, Brisk, Squirt, and Big Red on occasions.
