Had to come on here to say, or well maybe even brag, that I just got home with a men's Townie 21. WITH tax it was $536. But... it was an '07. Was still in the box! they just built it up. They said it was a Townie 21 Custom. Included in that price was:

1.a Townie rear rack ($50 bucks) really nice rack; probably the only one that would work on this bike.
2.metal fenders
3.a Cateye enduro 8 computer
4.front and rear RavX led lights
5.water bottle (no cage) oh well
5.and a free mug!

Just the '09 Townie 21 alone retails for $499.99 here. Starting to think I got luckey today.
Rode a 3 speed version this summer and loved it; a nice break from road bike action. Thought at the time it would have been nice to have more gear options. These crank forward bikes worth at least a test ride, they area a real blast to ride. Fun time.

Not to mention it is probably the only rack that won't look bad on it. Sounds like a good deal.

Thanks Mr Danw. Everything is flat black, fenders, bike and rack; looks like they belong together. Probably much easier to keep clean than one of the lighter flat colors they use. Now if it would just stop snowing here so I could ride it. Hmmm, maybe I could take the Townie on a car ride to the hospital and park inside and ride it around in there.

I saw the rack in a pearly white color. It looked cool and had some nice curves to the metalwork that made it stand out from the rest.
