Hi all I purchaced a Pinarello in 1988 the year Pedro won the tour de france, there was very few built to comemorate his win and all the
campy parts are actually etched with "Pinarello" or "GP" for Geovani Pinarello. It seems the frame builder got together with Campy to build this bike as a special edition. I rode her for aprox 1000 miles and that was it, its been stored ever since. It is amazing needless to say and I would like to know what something like this is worth as a collectors item. I contacted Pinarello and havn't heard back as of yet.
Any help would be appreciated.

Steve,

Did you ever find anything out about the bike from Pinerello? I just bought one but I am not sure if it is a 1987 or 1988. Mine is pinkish in collor with white honeycomb design. It seems to be original except for the brake levers. Do your levers have holes drilled in them? I would be interested in any information that you have on the Tre Cime model.

Yes I know the post is old but I thought he might have found some info on the model. I was able to locate a 1987 Pinarello catalog online and the two colors it came in are not mine. No mention of the "Tre Cime" model in the 1989 catalog. Can't find a 1988 catalog. I posted the pictures on my 6/10/09 "Pinarello ID" post, but here they are again. The outdoor full bike photo shows the most accurate true color. I am waiting for some tubulars to come in so I can ride it. Rode it about 2 miles with a Shimano 9 speed cassette and clinchers from my other bike. I want to replace the current brake levers and need some help on the correct Victory levers. Do they have holes drilled in them?

Wow have not been on here for a long time I still have my Tre_cime and its on its way to a bike museum in Guelph Ontario Canada cool. I have kept it mint since I rode it last in 1989 and it seems it would be hard to find a complete original Tre_cime on the planet it needs new decals is all. Not sure what I will get for it right now just nice to find someone who really wants it as a collectors piece so I will probably trade for something I would actually ride.

Neffer,

Nice bike. Is it a 1988? I believe that mine is a 1988 and the only non original part that I have are the brake levers which I am looking to replace with the appropriate ones for that year. Yours appear to be "Aero" levers. Did your bike come with those originally?

No holes in the Victory levers, IIRC.

Also, not all the components differ, but I think it's a Triomphe gruppo there. The thing I'm picking up is the flare out where the spider arms meet the chainring.

I believe that mine is a 1988. Here is the link to the 1987 catalog that says it came with the Victory Group.

I have had no luck finding the 1988 catalog.
