I just saved this Fuji from the trash dump, could not believe it , took off the garbage and there it was, laying in the scrap metal pile, not a scratch on her.
Got it home went through everything, new tires and handlebar wrap and a week of cleaning and waxing, rides great (not as good as my Trek) a little small feeling but, handles good.
Serial number is SC104377

There is a link on that page for serial number ID to get a more exact year of build.
I'm working on an S12-S and a Berkeley of the same vintage. Welcome to the Fuji club!

Thanks, I thought it was maybe an 83 by the Vintage Fuji site, it has the suntour seven derailer.
I ride a Trek 2.3 but I have to say this old bike rides pretty good.
Now I am looking for old bikes everywhere, $5 to the garbage lady and $40 in parts, maybe some locals that ride in my area that are road bike wantabees will by her, anyway I loved bringing it back to life, it sure didn't need to be trash.

I recently sold a 1981 Sports 12 for $130. That bike is one step above yours.

I have a Berkeley and a Monterey. My Monterey is a 1980. It was pretty bad. really, bad, actually. Rusted, beat up, etc. Got it for free, though. It's going to be a singlespeed. NOT a fixie. The Berkeley is in pretty decent shape. Just some rust around the top cable guides. I'm going to use it as a Townie.
I really like the old Fujis.
Cottered cranks, steel rims are big price detractors. Around here I could probably get about $100 in ready to ride condition, since the bike overall is very clean.
