Road Cycling - Anyone involved with Team in Training?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Thinking about doing one of their events... Just don't now how well I will do fundraising. My wife just ran a half marathon with them, and it seems like a great organization for a great cause...

She had to raise $1200 I think... it seems most of the cycling events (since none are close to me) will require at least $2500... :(

They participate in the Santa Fe Century, where I saw them 4 years ago. I was very impressed. They seem to truly be a team. If a person flats, everyone stops and waits and helps, etc.

Looks like a great organization, if you can handle the fund raising. I am on their mailing lists, as I assume everyone else is also.

I've thought about doing the T-in-T rides in the past but being unemployed it's tough coming up with the required cash. If they had a lower required amount or a "suggested" amount I think more people would participate.

True... however their goal is raising money, and what you raise also pays for your training, any hotel and/or airfare you require etc...
