I've been reducing my consumption of post surgery happy pills. Yesterday I took the last one. Today I've been experiencing headache and nausea. Doc said it could happen but still, me no likey.

My options now are Tylenol or beer (yes, Doc said I could have a beer). I have to go to the store anyway, we ran out of milk. I wish I had an internet capable phone to post pic of the available beers at my local store once there. I suck at buying beer by myself.

Wish me luck.

How do you suck at buying beer? That makes no sense...

Save your money. Go to the U of Fla. I'm sure that the frat boys are still celebrating the win over the Sooners.

Good luck.

Yes, the problem with the painkillers you received is that they will cause an awful rebound effect when you stop taking them.

:o I was told so over at the electronics and gadgets forum during a flashlight thread of mine, after posting this:

RubenX, if i recall correctly, you had the surgery to fix a disc right? And it was scoped, you werent fully cut open? And released the same day right?

I had similar done to my disc/spine, except mine was bad enough that they had to completely open me up and tinker around in there.

Although the pain was pretty bad, i wasnt prescribed anything, and even if i was, i wasnt going to take the pills as painkillers do little help for me and just make me sick. I rarely used my morphine pump the 3 days i was in hospital. I guess what im getting at is you had that surgery a month or so ago? Seems like you were prescribed a lot of meds by your doctor for a relatively non-intrusive procedure.

Any docs in here care to comment?

And Coors Light?

EPIC FAIL.

Coors Light is not meant for consumption by anything multicellular.

I don't know if FL has any regional beers similar to Shiner Bock, but I'd see about trying to drink something reasonable. Barring that, there is always Samual Adams, or Fat Tire.

...truncated...

Meds are not prescribed on the scar size alone. When the spinal cord is pinched, the nerve doesn't heal 100% right away. Some symptoms remain for while. Anyway, I can show you my scar if you show me yours :D

Get yourself some nice Belgian beer (Stella does not count.....) . Taste fantastic, and have a high enough alcohol content to knock you on your ass real quick.

:wtf: Stella is a fantastic pilsner, but different in so many ways to a good Belgian ale.

I would actually hope they are not prescribed on scar size at all!

I know the nature of the surgery, ive been through it so i know how long the pain lasts and the recovery time, but it seems like an awful long time to be on painkillers for that procedure.

Scar? haha, my 7" badboy is too close to my hairy asscrack. Im sure the majority of the forum would appreciate it if i didnt post it!

You have much to learn. Stella is complete piss compared to good Belgian Beer.

Two different styles. If you don't dig pilsner, you wouldn't think Stella is good.

Just so you know, I live in the same town as New Belgium, 3 nationally known micros, and 2 very good micros. I live in within 40 miles of beer that has frequently won golds at International Competitions, and I've brewed my own beer. I've had amazing beers from around the world, and I've had crap beer from around the world. I know a bit about beer. ;)

I agree. Poster should get himself a westvleteren 12..or at least a rochefort.

and if one is looking for a good pilsner in the states, Victory Prima Pils is the best US pilsner I've tried. Saaz hops rock!

Well, I'm not sure if my choice (pictured above) is considered good or not, but I'm half way trough the first one and it's kicking in.

Headache is gone BTW.

And with all of that around you, you posted about relocating? Either you have had too much beer or not enough...

On second thought, you haven't had enough. Like there really is such a thing as too much beer

Coors Light? Ouch, props for admitting you have a problem. I wouldn't put out a fire with that.
