Mountain - Plains - Bike commute from Parker Co to Denver Tech Center

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hey guys,
Anybody out there commute from Parker along Cherry Creek trail and then cut over to DTC? Wife's office is on 8300 block of Maplewood Ave. Just rented a house in Parker that backs up to Cherry Creek trail. :thumb: It's a rock throw north of Stroh Rd. I can follow the bike path to just south of Cherry Creek res on google earth but don't see a friendly route from there. The bike path maps I found online don't go quite far enough south. She prefers her road bike with panniers so wants to know pavement condition, trail width ( does a soccer mom with one dog clog whole thing :notamused:) , mileage, etc. Help please.

Is that the portion of maplewood just west of I-25 and south of Orchard? I work a few blocks to the west of there but I come in from the west. However, I have ridden from the east using Cherry Creek.
When I was taking the H line I tried the following:
1) Cherry creek reservoir to Dayton. Dayton South to Orchard and then take Orchard west.
Dayton is fine. Orchard is painful. Very busy and the drivers are blind in the morning. I have another commuter in my building that takes to the sidewalk on Orchard. I have yet to investigate this one.
2) This is the one I like. Cherry Creek reservoir west on Union. Union to Monaco St.
Take the MUP next to belleview East and then south along Quebec. Cross Quebec at Berry. Follow to Greenwood plaza blvd and take that south.
There are options but you \ she will need to experiment depending upon her comfort level.

Anyway, I got some sweet bike trail maps free online somewhere... they are pretty excellent. I'll do some digging and see if I can refer you to where I got them.
Thanks. After a little scouting found a pretty good route with minimal street riding

Hi! I commute every day from Jordon & E-470 to Lincoln & I-25. On warm days my wife goes with me and goes one further, I drop her off at Lincoln Station and she rides the light rail up to her office near Arapahoe.
If you wanted to go that route, it's a great bike path along E-470 (if a bit noisy), and then the train ticket is $2 to whichever train station is best for DTC, probably Arapahoe or Orchard.
EDIT: Definitely get a copy of the DBTC map if you don't have one already, they should sell it at Treads, REI, Performance, etc.
EDIT2: Oh wait, Maplewood? My wife works off that road, at HealthTrans. The Arapahoe station is a short easy ride from there.

Cherry Creek North to E470/C470 trail west past I-25
By the chevy dealership, get off C-470 at the Willow Creek Trail.
follow Willow Creek Trail NW to Quebec (crossing Mineral), north on Quebec to Maplewood. Go east a few blocks. There are some other neighborhood streets in the area you may want to follow - i.e., Syracuse.
Voila!
I live just south of E470 east of Jordan in Challenger Park Estates (right off CC Trail), but used to live right near Quebec and Maplewood. It is exactly 10 bike miles from where I used to live (Palos Verdes) to my home in Parker.
