I just dont understand the concept... although I am not overly familiar with the true rules,,, I have seen enough posts on advrider.com to know that it seems like you would have to pass up a lot of really cool stuff to get in the miles required... oh and here in Hawaii I would have to ride the scooter around in a circle like 300 times.

But, it sure would be easy for you to do a coast to coast to coast!!!!

There is a lot of good reading on the Iron Butt Association web site.

Only other motorcyclists, and bicyclists, can appreciate long distance endurance riding.

No, but a person needs an iron will to wade through all the RubenX posts.

I have not gotten around to doing an IBA ride, but hope this summer will be the first of many, I've done an 800 mile day, just haven't gotten around to adding that extra 200 and doing the paperwork.

Good Luck on your quest.

So far, I've got my Saddlesore 1000, Saddlesore 2000, Bun Burner Gold-1500 in 24, CCC100, National Parks Tour, certified.

All of them are worth doing ---- done best with a good friend.

If I can be of any help, don't hesitate to contact me.

aren't most bike riders IBA by definition?

heh - my club gives out a Stone Saddle award (indeed - the saddle is made of stone) to usually the same person every year who has the most miles ridden for our club "picnic" (also a 24 hour ride).

Wow, you make me look like such a noob.

I think I remember you on STN? Anyway, I'm the one there with the ninja 250, but I might get lazy and get a ninja 500 or SV. The BMW 650s seem to be in short supply around here, at least cheap and used.
