I was meandering on Craigslist for a bike and I cam across someone selling a "Concord Venture". Has anyone ever heard of this bike? Have any info?

my guess: it's one of the Japanese Concords from the bike-boom era (and NOT a Concorde from Italy/Benelux from the late'80s-'90s). Search for "concord" without the "e" and you may find the 1 or 2 pics that exist.

Were these bikes any good? Would it be worth $50 if in decent shape?

Ask the vendor if there's a tubing sticker. Columbus SL/SLX=good.
I had a concord, forget the model. It was shimano 600 and aloy wheels . I traded it to the lbs and it went for $150. The owner of the shop was asking $100 for the peugeot he traded me.

I have had 2 different Condords, a "Freedom 10" and a "Joplin". Both were relatively low end bikes, they both had identical equipment too. Hi-Ten steel frames, Shimano Eagle RD, Thunderbird FD, Dia-Compe center pull brakes, cottered cranks and steel wheels. I fixed the Joplin up for my friend, I thought it felt pretty nice on my test rides. Plus I think the head badges are some of the cooler ones that I have seen.

Well I checked it out, and got him down to $40 because the cassette was frozen. Still a good deal I think! Too bad there is too much snow to ride...
