Foo - Wow, toys!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Some very nice toys here. Expensive as hell (I can't afford them) but......wow.
Turbine powered, RC helicopters with all the bells and whistles.
Now if only they did a co-axial rotor version (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coaxial_rotors).

You need to PM this link to Crackerjab ASAP.
:p
A well appointed Industrial Turbine is only $12K? I say get a pair. And if you could settle for the gas motor, you could get a dozen and start the Markhr airforce.
now this, this is quite the toy.
if the rotor is easily removable it could make a good spanking paddle.
Twas a toy, til I checked the price! OUCHIES!!
OTOH - I want a heli-toy - but something around $25 ... may look more seriously this weekend ...
They look fun as heck, especially the ability to fly them upside down (try that in a full size one). The price tag is kind of steep (vertical) though.
Imagination running away with itself...
A scaled up version of one of these (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4i_JHS1ysQ&eurl=http://video.google.com/videosearch?ndsp=21&um=1&hl=en&safe=off&q=uav%20coaxial&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&&feature=player_embedded) with turbines x3 instead of electric with a stabilized remote film head (http://www.camerasystems.com/images/gyronfspage/gyronfs.jpg) underslung from the centre. Only cost about 50k, excluding R&D time and expenses.
edit: I'm guessing Crackerjab is a RC hobbyist?
edit2: I think my guess-timate of the price might be off by about 50k more

If by hobbyist, you mean he took an R/C copter salesman to the ground at the mall, then yes, he is a hobbyist of the highest order.:innocent::D

Scarier things have already happened (http://www.metacafe.com/watch/2132952/r_c_helicopter_with_45_caliber_handgun/)

Sounds like quite a hobby. Is it like urban golf and, if so, how's the scoring (5 points tripping over the display, 2 points for tripping over the cabling, 1 point for walking into a pillar whilst watching the cool demo)?
edit: slightly less violent point scoring system (sorry, no idea what came over me)
I think you need to imagine mixed martial arts on the part of Crackerjab, and sheer utter terror and abject confusion on the part of the heli vendor who made the mistake of a: approaching Crackerjab (who was in search of batteries for his robot from Radioshack), b: grabbing Crackerjab's hand to shake it without invitation; and c: refusing to let go of said Crackerjab hand.

I always thought it would be cool to get one of those 'copters. And mount something that shoots fire on it. But, that's just me.
