Advocacy & Safety - Long Island Hits

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
man oh man its hard to believe these guys are hitting cyclists on intention. i know lots of illegals hit and run but in this article it sounds like the illegals are the victims, theres too much hate in ny. I remember on election day when the racists in staten island ran down a ped but the ped they ran down was white not black, they accidentally ran down the wrong person.

Sounds like Lawrence Downes is a hater, or did I miss something.

Staten Island is not part of Long Island, and the only bridge connection is the Varazano Narrows, which has no bicycle lane.
Aside from that, I read the story in Long Island's Newsday (which actually has it's corporate HQ up near Albany), and the comments after the article were extremely anti-hispanic. ( I have just checked, and the comments were removed.)
