Foo - I like burritos

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
No, seriously... I always pack one for lunch, and it never makes it past 9:30 or so. Fat-free refired beans, diced green chiles, and some salsa on a tortilla... heaven. :)
This is why I do not bring lunch to work. I eat it by 10 AM and then go out for lunch anyway. Might have to go get a burrito now after reading this.
I like chipotle. I get the bols or the hard shelled tacos though. Tortilla makes me sick, and its too many calories.
so, that would make them breakfast burritos...

Approx 40% of my weekly dietary intake is comprised of burritos.
I've been trying to save money by not eating out, but I go the gym every morning before work and work out for two hours. How can i NOT eat the burrito at my desk when I get here?

Me too. But, I'm from New Mexico... and they say that's normal for folks like me.
I loves me burritos too! In fact you can stuff just about anything into that tortilla as well. In fact I'm having a tuna/cheese "sammie" via tortilla for lunch!

Only problem is: that's not a burrito. That's beans on a tortilla.

Its ok Tude...we like smaller ones too.
I'll be the judge of what constitutes a burrito and what doesn't (at least in my world). My concoction definitely meets my definition of "burrito".

Yeah, my wife has a small one. But there's jsut something that's so much fun about some junk in teh trunk.

Black beans with brown rice and lots of avocado. Fresh, homemade salsa works, too. :)
That sounds like a Utah burrito... damn yankees.
Tomatoes, jalapeno, serrano chiles; blended= my fave salsa. :p
My burritoes from the taqueria have arroz, carnitas, aguacate, frijoles de negro, queso, salsa, y dripping luscious fat.

That sounds yummy. You can't go wrong with different chilies. I add some honey, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, bell peppers, onions and cilantro to mine.

It's simple and spicey, its how salvadoreans do it. We put it on pupusas or burritoes or whatever.

Anything like a tamale?
I had a tamale last night. It was bad. I wish I could convince the wife to move back to New Mexico. That would make me happy.
not really, more like a quesadilla or taco.

I thought we were gonna get some recipes for burritos.
I thought we were gonna get some recipes for burritos.
Flour tortillas and anything you want to put in it.
Recipes for burritos? I didn't know there were such things. I guess I have a recipe for a pretty mean veggie burrito that I used to make on Phish tour, but these days, my recipe pretty much just depends on the level of effort I want to put forth. If I feel like roasting my own green chiles, my burrito goes from a five-minute process to about a two-hour process.
I have put things like Spam, saurkraut, potatoes, leftover hamburger helper, etc. in a tortilla. Does that make me a burritonour?
The last time I posted about big butts, it was about Rachel Ray and my post got deleted, so I guess I'm a pervert.
I would NEVER have deleted yoru post about Rachael Ray's butt, if I were a moderator.

What are pupusas?
Stuffed dough, they do shrimp ones, veggie ones, chicarrone, pollo, my favorite rueltas. Etc. Put some pickled cabbage on top and smooth salsa.
Edit: they are nothing like quesadillas or tacos. IMO.

yeah, true.... they are puffy as regular torillas are not.....

I'm referring to flavor... But as I said just IMO. I've had quesidillas and tacos, from tons of taquerias. Different to me.

There is something similar to that at La Salsa that I always get. I've been wanting one also.

Honey adds the perfect counterbalance to all the spiciness. Plus, the sugars in the honey help to tone down the acidity of both the tomatoes and the vinegar.
