In the past few weeks I've seen:

Valkyrie - OK. Not as bad as expected, but not amazing either.

The Wrestler - Nice, well made, little movie. Micky Rourke and Marisa Tomei both deliver great performances.

Grand Torino - Another good one. Ol' Clint shows that he's still got it, and then some.

So, in the end I'm 2, maybe 2.5 for 3.

haven't been to see a movie in a long time, maybe 6mo. but, i'd like to see Grand Torino - maybe this weekend.

I would like to see all three of those, but haven't.

I have seen Benjamin Button and Seven Pounds in the past couple of weeks. Both well worth seeing...

Before those two, I don't think I had been to a theater in over a year.

I saw Charlie Wilson's War. Decent movie.
I want to see The Wrestler, just for Marissa Tomei.

Seven Pounds -- eh. Depends on how much you like Will Smith
Curious Case of Benjamin Button -- yawn. almost 3 hours long? Srsly?
Milk -- Movie moves along okay; Sean Penn is wonderful
Slumdog Millionaire --must see

Curious Case of Benjamin Button - Not bad, but just a long respin of Forrest Gump.

Superman Returns (DVD) - Made it through half last night. Long movie and boring. Not sure if I'll even finish it.

Two more that are on my "to see list"

I spent the whole year with almost nothing that came out that even got me interested in going to the theater... then suddenly a half dozen movies that were worth seeing came out.

There are a few more on the horizon that look interesting too.

"The Russians are Comming, The Russians are Comming"
Watched it with my 17 year old son, once he understood what the fears where on both sides, he was laughing more than I was.

I watched Horton Hears a Who and Kung Foo Panda this past weekend, they were both awesome! Watched Joe Dirt again, definitely a classic! Also watched School of Rock and Deliverance, still a great movie!

I don't go to the movies often, I would much rather watch them at home. In my opinion watching them at my place is a much nicer experience, better video and sound. :D

Got dragged into BrideWars. I laughed, I cried- ok, not quite. It was ok. I'd recommend it as a matinee or a rental.

Seven Pounds -- eh. Depends on how much you like Will Smith

Really? Sad. I was interested in seeing that. Guess its a RedBox movie.

Doubt was very good. If Filo Betto is serious that GT was his last movie in front of the screen, he's going out John Elway style.. Looking forward to seeing the wrestler. Everyone can't be wrong. Can they?

Something you and I can agree on. If I may add my two cents about the movie Seven Pounds. It was a great movie that can show just how unselfish a person can be. Will Smith is someone who decides that good people deserve more than what is usually thrown their way. How he decides who is good or bad could be controversial, but still true human chararteristics and traits.

Woody Harrelson has a small but substantial role. He has always been one of my favorite actors.

I know where the title word Seven comes from, but for the life of me I can not figure out the meaning of Pounds.

Anyone know?

Eagle Eye was pretty good. The basic storyline was interesting and had some decent action as well. Dark Knight was very good also.

Milk... thought Sean Penn and Josh Brolin were pretty amazing.
Thought generally very well done and very worth seeing, in the end, I found its revisionism a bit bothersome.

Marley and me. Good for a few laughs but left me with a heavy heart thinking about all my doggies. Jennifer Anniston seems to have an amazing ability to look in the mid 30s for about the past 10 years.

The movie left out a bunch. The book is a lot better, and I loved the movie.

I won't see the wrestler, but Marissa Tomei is great.

Somehow, I can't imagine seeing Tom Cruise playing a German solider (or whatever he plays) being anything but completely dreadful.

Saw Gran Torino, thought it was the worst crap since High Planes Drifter. Maybe even the worst movie Clint has ever starred in. Which is disappointing, because they made that flick rather near to where I grew up.

Next I plan to see that movie about BIG.

The Garand and 1911 he had are fine examples of American firepower. That isn't the point.

He should have had better actors, or he should have at least changed his directing style to accommodate the different style of actors he had working for him. Not to mention the plot was pretty weak. The idea of a Japanese gang war in Highland Park is some what far fetched. It's a violent area, but I haven't met many Japanese people from there.

I appreciate his making the movie in Michigan, but it could have been a lot better.

Talking about a wake up call, I mean a reality check... I definitely recommend MURDERBALL

Another one - At Your Door

I do not follow any of the main Hollywood crap at all.

I know MB is a little old, but I had never seen it before, If you have Comcast go to Free Movies> Sundance Channel :-)

As far as I knew, the actors were Japanese. But that doesn't mean much either way. It's a rather black area.

The Tale of Despereaux jumped from plot to plot without cohesion and was pretty damned scary for a G rated so-called kids flick.

Bolt was not much better, what with it's plot lifted straight from Buzz Lightyear's story in Toy Story. And the little ones were once again freaked out by the insane action that seems to be packed into kid flicks.

Thank goodness Pixar puts out decent animated stuff.

That's all I've seen.

Nice job graying out the relevant thing I said, which is that they aren't black.

As for inferring that I'm racist, I judge people by how they act, not by how they look, so what race someone is doesn't mean much to me, and I don't bother keeping track. Perhaps you're the racist one if it means that much to you to keep the record straight. If not, I guess you're merely being an obnoxious prick.

I'm always far behind on movies. Trainer season usually means more movies so I just saw Ratatuoille which was fun. Over holiday I saw Transformers (ehhh), SpiderMan 3 (meeeeh) and IronMan (second time, still pretty fun, from a engineering standpoint).

Didn't see it but I heard Benjamin Button was bad from 2 people, as well as too long, and ok from another.

Saw Seven Pounds with Will Smith and thought it was good. I'm not a huge will smith fan, and they could have probably used someone else, but even so, I thought it was a good movie.

I enjoy that era of history, so I'm always up for historical drama. Sadly, Cruise dictates that these things must wait for DVD release, if at all.

The Wrestler - Nice, well made, little movie. Micky Rourke and Marisa Tomei (http://mancide.net/wallpapers/celebs/images/Marisa-Tomei-6.jpg) both deliver great performances.

Rourke scares me with his looks (http://ifitandhealthy.com/wp-content/images_celeb/mickey-rourke-plastic-surgery.jpg). If you can convince me he isn't a roid-freak, I'd give it a go. Tomei is a talented hottie, though.
:D

Grand Torino - Another good one. Ol' Clint shows that he's still got it, and then some.

Clint never did it for me as an actor, but I do find myself enjoying his films. Kelley's Heros (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelly%27s_Heroes), The good the bad and the ugly (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Good,_the_Bad_and_the_Ugly) and Fistful of Dollars (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Fistful_of_Dollars) are in my DVD collection. The trailer for Grand Torino is quite compelling. I will see this one eventually. :)
