I never thought I would ever say this.
I feel sorry for Jimmy Carter.
Is nothing sacred?! They stole POTUS rig.
Love the quote
"Since the gears were enclosed, the president and first lady wouldn’t have to worry about their chains coming loose as they whizzed along, followed closely by a Secret Service agent on a crummier bike."
Poor *******. They got the agent riding a bike shaped object.

I don't get it.
On the black market, they'd get peanuts for them.

i loved this quote:
“They’ve probably been sold for a $10 rock of crack,” fumed Peter Wicker. He’s the owner of Outback Bikes, a cycle dealer in Little Five Points and Hamilton Mill. He gave the first couple the bikes in November 2007. He was prompted, Wicker said, by a sense of duty.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!
how uncharitable and Republican!
don't you know that we should all be expressing sympathy for the person(s) taking the bicycles, because this is, after all, really society's fault; he/she/they are in need of mental health counseling, financial counseling, or drug rehab and have either relapsed or been unable to get help from the government and society at large...

Save it for P&R.

I'm surprised the Carters had such dilapidated rigs. I guess he should have cashed in on a few more speeches along the way. How old are they now? I'm having a hard time imagining them pedaling away.
8sp internal geared hub, I want one.
*facepalm*
do you feel a salted?
SIGH!!!! Who cares. Okay.....they had their bikes stolen......how come the rest of us don't get headlines when they steal our bikes?
How come they don't take bike thieves out and beat them to within an inch of their lives!!!
Better yet...horsewhipping and then hang them!!!!!!:notamused:
I am now sipping my green tea and am much calmer. My, my! We should certainly chastise bicycle thieves!
thieves will steal anything, even urns filled with ashes, mementos and family heirlooms...
