Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Im maybe tired but it looks as if the wheels are only as high as your knees.
If so then you can put 3 wheels one atop the other to get to your height, well
then to my calculation you are 2100mm high which is 2.1 meters and thats 7'
and youre damn tall.
Or you just bought a mini-bike or Im just confused so please enlighten me .
What size is this bike and what is your height tell me please ?
Swweeett!
I have been drooling over a Trek 5000 at the sporting goods store near my office. The paint on it is nowhere near that HOT!

i thought the same thing. i was like, huh? why'd he get a bike that's ten sizes too small? then i realised it must be the angle of the picture.
nice ride, btw. it looks HOT!
The ugliest jersey ever.
And the ugliest post in this thread. We were always taught if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all...
but enough of that BS...
Nice bike!!! (and cool jersey... it gives the guys behind you vertigo though ;) )

matt, it looks like a nice ride, hope have seen the light and have come over to the roadie side. If you ride the road long enough, you will give up the camelback and get some waterbottles.

If you think it rides fast now, just you wait. You'll be passing cars before you know it. By the way, Crank Brothers sells road cleats for those Eggbeaters. Congrats on an excellent purchase.
What are those things on your wheels?
You know the ones attached to the spokes.

What is it with roadies NOT liking reflectors? Is it the weight issue? I know, I guess they look kind of geeky, but they are oh so helpful at dusk when a car is approaching from your side. Please explain!

to clear up a few things...i am 5'10" and the bike is a 58 (got it big because im 15 and plan to grow into it and not out of it). i didnt feel like buying new shoes since im already broke and just got another pair of eggbeaters so i can use my mountain shoes on the roadie and the mountain bike. i really am sick of the camelback...the dealer hasnt gotten the good waterbottle holders in yet. i have thought about taking the reflectors off the wheels, but my parents freaked out. lets see....and i now have a bikers tan on my arms...just got back from a 30 miler...and im lovin it.

Let's see... spoke-mounted wheel reflectors combined with low count paired-spoke wheels. That's a bad idea. I'd take the reflectors off and if you're concerned about side visibility, get an omnidirectional blinkie and/or go nuts on the wheels with some reflective tape.

I was just at that point myself. Then a guy did a face plant in front of me because he hit something while drinking out of a bottle. Then there was the guy in Miami that fell 70ft off of a bridge (that I used to ride on). Again, hit something while drinking out of a bottle. I think I am going to need a little more convincing.
sure that wasnt vodka in the bottle  how do you fall off a bridge on accident

That thread was going around here a few weeks ago. When on the bike, the gaurd rail is about at your hip. I used to think "man, you could go right over". Well, this guy did. Then someone stole his bike before he got back.
o man ... that sucks. insult to injury big time.

i dont find myself using the granny gear a whole lot...but i do use it sometimes. the reason i got a triple is because its more versatile and also because i am out of shape right now because i lifted all winter and did no cardio. i dont want to have to walk my bike up some hill. but another good thing about it is that if i get really serious and take low intensity rides, then the triple is a must to keep my heartrate down. so far, i like it. its been good.

Nice ride. How did you get those front calipers to work with a 26" wheel? Was there enough reach built in?

I'm kidding... I ride a C'dale...
I have no idea how they got the 26" mtb tire to work... I see this monster daily on my way from parking to my workplace. I thought it was worthy of a photo... brings new meaning to the"Hybrid".
I really don't know why this guy bothers with the lock. I've seen a lot of interesting bikes locked up downtown, but this one takes the cake.

Haha thats very nice. I know however after living in downtown Philly for a year that having a mountain bike is really really handy for jumping curbs and whatever other crazy illegal stuff you are doing to get around as quickly as possible and not get killed by opening doors and idiot drivers. So maybe this guy wanted that toughness on the front, but didn't want to sacrifice ALL the speed.
This is something I could see myself doing. But then I ride an early 80's Schwinn Traveler while wearing basketball shorts and t-shirts. :-)

Thanks for the laugh, as soon as I saw the picture I knew it belonged to someone else. No-one in their right mind would post that as their ride at Bike Forums. The word Frankenstein comes to mind.:D
Someone earlier asked about reflectors. A reflector can cause a vibration in the wheels at very high speeds +60kph. I have also heard about the things just breaking off while in motion, not good. When I ride at night I use velcro reflective straps that go around each ankle and each wrist. They are removable and won't cause any nasty accidents.
CHEERS.
