Northern California - Bike Commuter Act

Want to see if anyone else works where I do-have been trying to talk to my employer about supporting this new law. They are HQd in SF with a large national presnce but so far just getting blown off; want to see if other emplyees out there who would support requesting that this employer support this. Thanks.

Gap? All their talk about Social Responsibility doesn't really pertain to Eco-Friendliness.

I talked to my employer as soon as the law was passed. However, due to lack of regular cyclist commuters at our company (just me and one other person), I guess the CEO felt that it was not worth the effort. They did, however, started other commuter (public transportation) programs, so that might be something for the future.

I've got my union on it, and apparently the HR head is for it.

thanks for all the replies-no not the Gap--think more like Stagecoach.....it just really seems to suck that my only option is a letter to the CEO and then of course all the mid level managers duck and cover----

My company, based in New York with a branch in Menlo Park, and proudly promoting its "green" ways (PR), has a bike room stocked with 6 company bikes for employee use. They are not participating in this program. It is only $20/mo. but I could use $240 in '09. So while well-intentioned, this law seems to be an ass, or perhaps it is just me.

$20/month is definitely not much, but it does help pay for tires and tubes. With the way the economy is, I definitely won't complain about having an extra $20/month...
