Does anyone know the condition of the Pere Marquette trail between Reed City and Baldwin? Is it unimproved ballast, weeds and dirt, or gravel? Can it be done on a 1995 Schwinn hybrid with 38s? If not - is there a decent, low-traffic route between Ludington and Reed City?

To clarify - the trail I am interested in is the Pere Marquette State Trail between Clare and Baldwin (west of Clare), not the Pere Marquette Rail Trail between Clare and Midland (east of Clare). I know the two very similar names make for confusion.

I appreciate the links, but what I'm looking for is information about the condition of the Pere Marquette State Trail between Reed City and Baldwin. Thanks.
