Cyclists/HGVs awareness event
HGVs will be parked in various London locations on Tuesday 20 January so cyclists can see how the road looks from a lorry cab.

The event, organised by the Metropolitan Police and Transport for London, takes place during morning rush hour (7-10am) at the following locations:

Spittal Square (City);

Finsbury Circus (City)

Queen Mothers Gate, South Carriage Drive (Westminster)

Eddystone Road Bridge, off Brockley Road (Lewisham)

A lunchtime (12-3pm) event will also take place at St Pauls Cathedral.

Yeah, it never ceases to amaze just how invisible road users are, even large family cars, from the cab of a big rig.

Yup. A friend of mine was in her Mazda 323 (reasonably big 5 door hatch) to the left of a (truck) lorry that decided to turn left. The only thing that alerted him to her presence was the sound of her tires squealing as the car was moving sideways across the road.
