I am looking into getting some new housing for my shifter cables. In looking into the housings I saw both 4 and 5mm housings but I'm not sure what I need to run. I have Shimano 9 speed shifters. If anyone couls clear this up it would be great. Thanks.

FWIW, I've been running 5mm Jagwire housing with 1.1mm Jagwire derailler cables.
My recollection is that 4mm housing would work just as well. I remember being confused about the whole 4mm / 5mm thing at first too. I finally went with 5mm just to be consistent with the size of my brake cables. That way I had to buy just one size ferule.

its probably better to go smaller just to be safe, you can always shim a smaller housing
