I'm considering buying a Polar HRM s720i; I've been getting so involved with cycling & training for a triathlon that it's just the next best step I should be taking. I've read in some posts that if you don't have the right kind of computer than some features won't be accessible. Is it wise to purchase a HRM s720i if I don't have the technology to use it completely.

Secondly what do you think about purchasing the HRM on ebay. Polars web site discourages buyers from buying from ebay or other auction sites. They say that only Polar authorized retailors provide a 2 year warranty on the watch & transmitter & ebay doesn't.

I would much rather fork the $199 I saw on ebay for the watch than the $287 to $319 in the authorized website stores. Any leads. Thanks for the feedback

I use the 710i and it is great. It will only talk to PC's, they are not designed to work with MAC's. There may be few features you don't use like temperature and altitude, but I collect data so it's useful to me. As far as E-bay goes, that's a personal choice. I only buy new stuff, but a mate of mine only buys through E-bay and he is always happy with his purchase/bargain.

CHEERS.
