Northeast - Where to get the NYC bike map?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Is there a place near Grand central station where I can go to pick up a free copy? I think the website said most LBS have it, is that true?

Most do, but you can also call 311 and have one mailed to an address of your choosing.
I dont know of availability at shops near there, but the closest would be Conrad's @25 Tudor City Pl.
Or you can download the .pdf of the map from Transportation Alternatives to hold you over until you find a print copy.
There's actually a woman (maybe from Times Up?) who walks around handing them out to cyclists. I was waiting at the window of Ben's Pizza one night, on Spring Street, when she passed by and tried to stick one in my rear rack.

Thanks , Ill check Tudor's bike shop, if not Ill try the New York Public Library.
I doubt you'll be able to get a copy of the map at NYPL. (http://www.nypl.org) According to their website they seem have the Bicycle Network Master Plan but it's probably in the reference section.
Why not give Conrad's Bike Shop a call?
