OK, I know that Shimano promises the fires of hell to whomever dares to stray from their salvation hub gear grease. Still, is there so much stress on the gears that no other lubricant will do?
Has anyone experimented or actually seen Nexus gear hubs fail for use of the wrong lube?
Also, what would be the service interval for the Nexus 7, assuming a daily all-weather use.
I gave Shimano a call: they will not provide any service documentation to the general public on the basis that this marvel of technology is beyond the clumsy capabilities of the lay user. Duh?
