I love my new R600, but I have to admit, just as others have said, the C'dale brakes suck. My question is why? Is it pads or the design of the C'dale generic brakes? I was running down a steep incline Sunday and had one heck of a time stopping the bike. I was thinking of trying better pads before dumping the brakes all togehter, what do you guys think?

Depending on your rims, you may have to give the anodized coating on them to break in a little, and you may also want to take some sandpaper to your pads to break the surface gloss on them as well. Also, your cables are prone to stretching for a while, and may need more frequent adjustment for the first 1000 miles or so.

everybody says that c'dale brakes suck...maybe they are right (dont really have anything to compare it too) but i find my brakes to be fine. I dont see how much more braking power I could want. I dont have to pull hard at all to lock up that back wheel when im stopping and slowing down is a breeze for me....maybe im just lucky.:D
