Ramon and Chris bailed from the new night ride route in the early morning. It is a rare day when Ruth & I are up before anybody ;)

I was beat from yesterday's ride, despite it being only 40 miles. Must have been the extra Crestview and Bunker Hill thrown into my way home from Woodside.

Anyway. Ruth and I set out on our battle of Hastings (and club) for the frist time, and we set out by 8 AM.

Only problem was that it was damn WINDY!!! So we were climbing, and dealing with the wind going 4mph up the steep stuff :twitchy:

We cut it short, since our avg speed wasn't going to get us through the whole ride in time.

Ended up with 16 miles, but with 2417 feet of climbing.

Ended up being a pretty nice day.

Rode with Chrisoco today. The winds blowing south tanked me on the way over to Robert's market. We did King's Mountain then all of Star Hill. Refueled at the Woodside Bakery and headed home. After two weeks off it felt good to get in 52 yesterday and 54 today.

I think I popped my knee a little on Star hill yesterday, staying ahead of the BEnt...day off today:cry:

Dang, it's too early in the year for injuries. Stay healthy.

Yes it is quite notable that you were up so early and ready to go. Too early. Last night the idea of getting up at 6:45 and out about 7:15 seemed nice for a change. But that was at 11 pm, by 1 am, I knew it wasn't going to happen. So it was good to meet up with bostic for a somewhat mellow [I wasn't dealing with the headwinds from Sunnyvale :)] but hilly ride. I did Lakeview and Glencrag and Sylvan and backroads right in my backyard on the way to and from Canada/84 to meet Ramon. 'Twas a good day.

I think the Hastings/Club combo is steeper than Crestview. At least it seemed to be.
