Great Lakes - Anyone in Madison want to ride Saturday? (1/17/09)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

The bfw ride is cancelled, but I still need to out for 3 or 3 hours, since it will be "warm". Anyone in for at least a cap city trail loop? (is it plowed?) Or Paoli? I wouldn't mind going a little farther either though. I'm talking about a nice easy ride at a conversational pace.
Let a brother know. The trainer is getting boring.

Ooooo ... I sense an cat. upgrade in someone's future.

I'm interested in a CCT ride- as long as you really mean "conversational pace". Noon-ish?

Definitely. No pace is too slow. My only criteria is that I keep it under 200 watts. And that's not roadie code. Recovery pace. Or slower. 12mph is fine. Or whatever.
I just realized how hard it is to convey that one intends to ride slow, because it all sounds like lies. But it's true.
In this case.
Noon works. Where is your favorite location?

I'm very close to Machinery Row, but could meet up w/ you anywhere in the downtown vicinity. Looking forward to meeting you!
I'll post the ride on madisonbiking.com to see if I can recruit anyone else to come out and ride with us.

I've got about four guys including myself who are in for this ride. I'd suggest Olin for the meet because of its ample parking spaces. Noon at Olin?

I need a report on CCT conditions before I can commit. I see myself falling down repeatedly if left to my 23 mm tires vs. ice.

I'm riding on slick road tires FWIW. But I might fall too.

I just rode half of the route that we're taking tomorrow. There are a couple spots where some ice is peeking through but they are all easily avoidable. Most of the route is just packed snow which makes for good riding.

My only weekend rides are events that went on my calendar months in advance. (why do you think I got so excited about the Double or Nothing?) Have a great ride.

Woke up really sick this morning, not gonna make it. Why do I always get sick on weekends?

So ... ?
Did it go down?
Any stories to be told?
I mean, it was NOT the nicest of days to be riding! :D

Decent ride. I got a flat tire, but was able to fix it. I stayed warm.
Maybe I'll type more later.

Anyone wonna today? Maybe 3 o'clock? Will be ~6 degrees, still 10 degrees warmer than our ride last year (minus the 4 ft snow drifts)
