I've yearned to free myself from barber shops and cut my own hair for years. Always afraid I screw up.

I just found the Remington Shortcut. I picked it up for Amazon, $32 shipped and just tried it today. Works beautifully gives a great even cut up to 1/2". Not sure how accurate the setting wheel is but they tell you to start with the longest setting and adjust. It also has something called a balding comb for those of you who don't mess around.

Like it says on the box, you can't screw this up!

Have no idea how long it will last but it is highly recommended for an easy short cut.

http://www.remingtonshortcut.com/#/home/ is also available from Kohls and Target.

HI,
I tried a flow bee I have it in my computer room ,does a great Job except it does seem to create a few extra split ends.
I can't wear my hair that short cause I have a big old smiley face scar that cover my head ear to ear wear they adjusted my head... hehe

I got a book on how to cut hair from the library, and had my then 14 year old daughter learn how to do it. Paid her $10 for each haircut. Worked great. When she left for college, my daughter taught my wife how to do it.

I took the other route to cheap and easy haircuts: I married a hair stylist.

After seeing a number of photos of you with helmet, I was not expecting this!

I had hair almost that long in college; when I was in the marching band I had to tuck it up under my hat.

Nice mullet.

Erm, no. With MPB, it's a skullet. ;)

I'm thinking that your wife might be right because you left us with this great straight line about the doctor's finding bone rather than brain under your scalp.

You ought not do that in 50+. Somebody, not me of course but one of the other guys, is likely to use it against you.

After coming home from shops with a less than great haircut, Donna decided she couldn't do much worse. We bought a Wahl hair cutting set, and she does much better than most of the barbers I had visited, and no training!

tsl's photo has inspired me to grab the clippers and trim my remaining hair down to a #1 guard all over.

When I was a teenager my dad told me it'd be okay if I grew my hair long, smirking as he exited the room saying "while you can". I had it down to my waist thru much of high school and then off to university, but during a long camping trip to Mexico over the first xmas break, I came back and cut off the tangled mess! Kept it fairly short and "styled" until going sufficiently bald on top, then bid my stylist farewell (and she got me the Wahl clipper I now use, but I didn't get it to cut her out, but to trim my beard). Now I just do it myself with the Wahl clipper, keep what's left really really short (1/4" is long to me now), or get the razor out too and polish it up once in a while.
