Hello Everyone, I hope everyone has been doing OK. :)
Ok, I'll get right to the point.
The speedometer in my '92 Chevy pickup is not accurate, it starts out being a "little" off but as I gain speed it departs more and more from the true speed so that by the time I get up to 50 or 60 it is pegged out at 85.
I was originally thinking that it had the wrong sized tires on it but sometimes when I turn the blinker on forcefully it will drop down to the correct speed for just an instant.
I am thinking maybe there is a short somewhere that is allowing the spdmtr to get too much juice?
The whole guage/meter assembly is of the electronic kind complete with the curcuit board on the plastic sheet ect.
If there is anyone on here that has any experience with anything like this I would greatly appreciate your comments.
Also, If anyone knows of any good Automobile forums they would like to share so that I don't have to put posts like this on a BIKE forum. :D
Muchas Gracias, Paul J.

When I saw the title, I was thinking you need to swap gears at the tranny. However since you seem to have an electronic system, unless you have some decent DC skills, a good Fluke meter, and color wiring schematics I think you will need to take it to a good shop and have them meter it out. As for auto forums, I only participate in Volvo, VW, and Mopar forums (AND GrassRootsMotorsports) because thatr is whatr I have but as many Chevys as there are out there I think you can lurk around and find what you need.

Hey Pyze-guy, that is a good question. I was kinda hoping ya'll would be able to help me with that too. I have searched all over the internet and can't find any info on it, the only possible connection I have found is some company called GM but I am not positive. Actually, I am beginning to wonder if it is really even a bike at all. \/(*-*)\/
Hello, Rev. Chuck, I think I may pull the dash out one more time to see if there is anything obviously amiss, hmmm, as I was typing that I had an idea. Maybe the wire for the speedometer is too close to another wire and is getting some induced current which is jacking up the reading. Anyway, I would like to think that I have some decent DC skillz but this problem seems like it may be a little time consuming for an ameteur like me to figure out. I figured I would try here as a last resort before taking it to a shop that wants seventy five to ninety bucks just to Diagnose the problem, let alone fix it, but I guess that, hopefully may be all I need.
Stubacca, you da MAN!! I have been looking for a good auto forum for quite a while now (only been able to find lame ones). I have read a few threads on there and they seem like very nice helpful people. I will try posting a message on there as soon as I get a chance. TYVM for the site.
Magna Man: Is that the cover for it stashed up on the roof? I bet you make sure that's over it if you leave it for more than five minutes right? It actually looks like kind of a cool car, maybe something like a British Punch-Bug or something. :p My first truck was a 1985 Dodge Ram (mind you, I just turned 20 so it was old when I got it) and It has a manual transmission that is kinda worn out, which made it hard to find first and second, which was a little nerve wracking when I was trying to learn how to drive. However, I do think it helped me stay out of any accidents I might have gotten myself into had I had a more eh, "sporty" automobile.
Thanks very much for replying everyone, Talk to you later, Paul J.
P.S. I tried to put some Russian in but it just put a lot of question marks so I tried to post it as a pic but I couldn't figure out how to do it, I see that there is a new system of keeping up with attachments under my profile but I can't find any info or help on it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks again.

Glad to have been of help :D. As will all forums, there are some really arrogant bastards on there... take them with a grain of salt. I always found the membership in the plastic modelling forum (my non-bike hobby ;)) to be very helpful, though.
