I was thinking of riding form Pomona to Palomar the day bf the toure de cal stage ride. It looks like about 110 miles on some decent roads, but I'm wondering if anyone has some route planning info. I'm not sure how those roads would be on a bike.
I could always drive down and just ride Palomar, but that doesn't seem like as much fun.

Drive or take the train to Oceanside. Then ride to Palomar, but I expect serious traffic on that day. Watch the climb and then ride back to Oceanside.

Thanks Merlin. I was thinking of a nice long ride the day before and camping in the State Park up there, but the camp sites are booked. I found some nice rides on bikely from Oceanside (thanks jsigone) or Temecula. So, we will probably go on one of those routes.

If anyone looks those up, the jsigone route is very similar to the grumpy pig's route sheet (http://www.geocities.com/grumpypig/).
