The weather here in Tucson has been warm for even us. Yesterday's temp topped out at 78 degrees, which is about 12 degrees above normal. Maybe we should start a thread devoted to clydes and athena couch surfers. Those in the colder climes can crash with us in the warmer climes and swap in the summers.

I rode almost 52 miles. Here is a photo while we were climbing toward the Catalina Mountains:

The ride had the most climbing I have done before. It had 1598 feet of climbing. I know for a lot of you that is nothing, but I am trying to improve my climbing. Do any of you have tips for getting better at climbing?

The down was a ton of fun!

Climb the only way you'll get better at climbing is, climbing. Do hill repeats, find a hill that gives you a hard time, go up it turn around go down it, repeat till you no longer recover back to normal. Try this once a week, you'll climb better and be a stroger rider overall. Remember everyone suffers up the hills even if you are a good climber it's all a matter of who can recover faster.

Yeah, like YC said, to get better at climbing, one must climb. Lots. Lots and lots. And if you're a Clyde, lose weight (not that we aren't all trying to do that anyway). No magic bullet...just climb. Now if you had asked about climbing faster...

A beautiful day here in Dallas as well.

Climbing experience while hiking- I found doing it more builds up your muscles, but if you lose weight at the same time, it's a double whammy and you can improve pretty fast.

Beautiful day here in Sacramento as well. Mid 60's and sunny. Did 54 miles with 3000 feet of climbing. Had a real fun ride.

To get better at climbing, climb! Also, get a HR monitor so you can keep it at a manageable zone.

I wish you guys would stop with the beautiful weather! I forgot the camera, but could have gotten a good shot of ice washing up on the shore of the Chesapeake near North Beach today.

Uggh.. winter.

Yeah, my outdoor time today was shoveling the driveway (again) and taking a quick tour with my snowshoes. I'm not complaining, though. I love getting on my snowshoes. But I was the kid who was always first out with my sled and the last one home.
