Anyone ever try spraying their feet with some antipersprint spray to prevent sweating and thus, keep feet dry and warm?

Did it work?

I haven't tried it myself, but I've talk to others who have, and they do claim it works ... it stops the feet from sweating.

Be aware of the possible risks associated with aluminum (not in your bike ;)) -- a common ingredient in many anti-perspirants.

Google is your friend....

Baking soda! Cheap as hell, no health hazards, works extremely well :)

Also, merino wool socks will avoid smells.

Here's a Winter Cycling article that talks about using anti-perspirant (scroll down to where it talks about feet):

The article is written by an avid winter cyclist from Winnipeg (no, not me).

this is about sweat, not stink

and think about this before you use baking soda:

baking soda is prescribed for the first stage of treating rampaging cases of athletes foot.

the procedure is load up your feet with it, slap on the shoes, and your sweat will build and never evaporate. baking soda holds mosture to your toes, and the epidermis will start to peel away after a few days in big chunks, ...effectively stripping the feet painlessly

then
anti-fungal treatments can be used and are far more effective because most of the dead layer
of skin is removed.

so be warned. using baking soda isn't gonna solve any foot sweat, and it may cause your
skin to peel away if you use a lot of it and keep your feet in it all day. it will solve stink
but so will fresh socks and washing your feet

I've been using it daily on my armpits for over 2 years now... just make sure you dilute it in enough water, and no problems. FWIW I live in NM so it gets pretty hot here...
