Texas - Austin Veloway

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hey guys i need some information on the austin veloway...specifically where I can park my car? Anyone have an address...most websites just say "on mopac, one mile south of slaughter"...but when i look at google maps i can't spot a parking lot.
Also, if anyone has other ride suggestions, please feel free to add them. (rides starting from the UT campus would be great)
There is a lot which is often full and there is lots of parking along the street.
I have a 25 mile around town loop, which passes pretty close to the UT campus. If you want I'll post a link to the route slip.

Here's another. (http://www.cyclistnexus.com/CyclistNexus/route_view.jsp?rid=2692)
Goes a little further south and a little further west. As I recall, this is an Austin Cycling Association (ACA) route and is made up of almost all established bike routes.
I made a slight modification to the route so that you ride by Lance's house on Foothill Terrace.

hmmmm...it's possible you need an account.
If you PM me I can send you PDF of the ride, without the detour past Lance's house, but can describe the very short detour to get ya there.

The lot is across and down the street from the Lady Bird Johnson Wild Flower Center. Definitely check out ACA or any of the dozens of other rides happening every week in Austin (http://austinbikeblog.org/cycling-events-calendar/) when you get tired of riding around in circles.
Also, ACA maps are available for download to members. It's worth the $25, and they'll send you a password for the map section once you've joined.

i have one. Full time student and work part time in a lab, but with my income i can't justify spending $20 on bike routes...when most of the world shares them for free
