Davide has taken two classics in a row now by outsprinting DiLuca uphill on the Mur de Huy to take the Fleche Wallone mid-week classic.

WTF!!! I thought OLN was showing it live. I left home a few minutes ago with 60k to go. ****! I was taping it, avoiding all news and threads titled Fleche Wallone, and was looking forward to watching it tonight.

Damn.

Sorry if I spoiled it for you. Just got excited.

So they were not showing it live? Or they were going to but they miscalculated the finish time?

Good for Davide though. He's finally showing the potential that we knew he had.

I don't follow the TV coverage so I don't know what live coverage is available. I thought Rebellin would score high this year, but I didn't expect this kind of performance out of him. I would have picked DiLuca in that finish.

Wow! Almost a carbon-copy of his Amstel win.

Can he do the Ardennes double???

Bettini climbed off the bike half way thru today. Anyone know why?

Ulrich did to but that's not a mystery. ;)

Ulrich's been seen climbing off a lot of bar stools across Europe.

As much as I put down Lance for his single minded focus on the TDF, Jan may actually be worse.

Yeah, I went to cyclingnews.com as I turned the race on TV. With 60k to go... I looked down the live.cyclingnews page to find that it was actually much later in the race... so I guess there was a bit of a delay.

And everyone, please... leave results out of the subject (I dont see anything wrong with talking about a race before its shown on TV, but it makes more sense to title a thread with the race name or something. creates a spoiler without asking for one)

Those riders at the front seem to go up that steepest section of the Huy with ease... and its possibly over %20

Sad to see OLN cover a HC race live, yet just show a tape delay hour recap of a World Cup race.

Awesome power again by Rebellin

The future is not looking good for Ullrich!

But congratulations to Rebellin (again). What a win.

Argentin?

That sounds right. I think it was 1991.

Unbelievable riding from Rebellin.

I sincerely hope his three victories are packaged in one DVD/VHS collection. I can't wait to watch this week over and over again.

Phil and Paul were saying the Amstel-Fleche-Liege triple has never been done. Absolutely amazing riding by rebellin. Same types of wins in all three...and no one could counter it in all three!

There will be the inevitable cries that his three wins were not stylish - that he sat on 'till the last kilometer and only did what was physically needed to win. They'll forget that was the smartest rider in a peloton of smart riders and that no one pushed him past Boogerd and Di Luca on the climb to the finish line.

Then there will be the accusations that he must have found a better way to dope. After all, how could a rider who's ridden well in the past but never was quite able to win a lot suddenly manage to win three in a row.

It's amazing how jealous people can be.

I think he sat on till the last 250 meters. :) But if you can't shake him, you gotta deal with him. He knew exactly where to be in all three races and rode very smart.

I have to give kudos to Boogerd who made the race at Amstel and closed on Vino at Liege while all the other superstars looked at each other scared to take a risk.
