Pacific Northwest - Seeking suggestions for road rides, Seattle area

Visiting for ML King Day and the next day. Brought my road bike, the forecast is splendid, where should i go within striking distance of North Seattle? I like it moderately steep or rolling.

Today I did the Burke Gilman to the Sammamish River trail, about 50 miles, fast riding but flat. Gorgeous day, many, many riders out there.

You might want to go to the cascade.org site, and look at the rides there to find some good rides. Cascade spawning cycle has a nice route around seattle and plenty of hills, though the pavement isn't that great.

There is a very nice library of local rides at the website of the Seattle Bicycle Touring Club.

You might want to look at the routes that start at Gasworks Park.

Another good ride is a lap around Lake Washington.

Also, a great ride would be to ride from North Seattle to the Bainbridge Island Ferry. Then take the ferry over to Bainbridge and ride the "Chilly Hilly" route (you can find that route at the maps library I listed above or at the event website on cascade.org.). The Chilly Hillly route is rolling hills, about 30 miles. So by time you tack on your mileage to/from the ferry you'd have a nice ride.

The ride around Lake Washington is very nice, as is the Chilly Hilly route mentioned above.

Hills in Seattle tend to be moderately steep or steeper. Here are a couple of routes in the city that I like:

Perimeter Ride of Seattle (http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/PROS-Perimeter-Ride-of-Seattle) at 80 mi.

They are loops so you can start anywhere.
