Thinking about purchasing this frame for a cheap project. Want to teach myself how to assemble a bottom bracket and drive train. If purchased I would first use as single speed until I build up a wheel from an internal 3 or 5 speed.
That in mind, I believe this is a caravan touring frame, can anybody tell me anything specific about this frame and whether or not this is a good candidate for my purposes?
Looks like a mid 70s Peugeot, U08 type. I have one in my basement myself. Do a search on french threading and I think you might change your mind. Missing bb spindle, and looks like only one of the two cups are there. Seat post and handlebar stem are odd sized as well. Those parts are not included. Not sure if the headset is odd sized as well.
This is not a touring frame. Gas pipe tubing.
Beware.

Good observations.
To the OP: I certainly wouldnt be looking at that for what you have in mind. Look for something 80's-ish with all BSA threading.
