Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Did you say pass the mayonnaise?

Ever wonder how your copy of Mayonnaise gets to you.. Here's the binder I keep the current copies stuffed in waiting to be mailed. Cardboard goes between each stack to make sure they don't get bent, folded or other wise messed up. No one wants mis handled mayo, right?

Lot's of copies went out today!

So, off to the bike at the end of the day...

On the road home, along the ship yard. Pretty nice stretch, though the road is choppy.

Got downtown and got a phone call from my wife that I needed to be home sooner, so I had to ditch my long ride, flipped around and got on commercial st. Nice and fast stretch. Almost no cars wide street. Cruisin...

Stop at the trolley station, and waiting for the train. Small fight broke it, it's a rough part of town, but it makes for good entertainment. They're both grown boys and no one pulled knives or guns, so I figure to sit back and watch the action.

At my stop, my almost hands down favorite thing to do: shoot the handicap ramp. I made 27 dollars, 35 cents, 1/2 a pack of marlbro reds and a pack of gum betting I could go down the ramp with out a brake, with out touching or holding onto the railing or putting my feet/hands on the tires. They didn't know anything about fixed gear control. I would have had more, but some people backed out after they figured out the non coasting option.

I laughed pretty hard.

It's fun though, steep, and nice tight switch backs to make it interesting.

So, I put the Betaman bike on the back of the Jeep and head home. Yes, it's a SUV, yes it's got big tires, yes there isn't a strait piece of body work on it.. get over it.

I hate traffic. If it weren't for the extreme hill that my house sit's on (.75 to 1 mile climb, pretty steep), I'd leave the jeep at home completely.

Into the post office box. Thing sits low when I drive the jeep.

And, late at night.. after putting the kid to bed, I get ready for the next day. I do a check off to make sure that all that are due to be mailed have been, and tracking what's inbound so nothing get's missed.

And that's how the Mayo get's passed.

So, off to the bike at the end of the day...

After looking at that sorry bike rack the Navy has provided, I did a little shopping over at GSA Advantage. All you need to do now is go see your friendly procurement officer and tell him/her that you want one of these:

the mental picture of a giant destroyer with a huge slingshot chucking batteries at the bikini atoll is making me laugh... Sounds like something W would do think up while he's playing in his sandbox in the Rose Garden.

Thanks for the effort WK and whoever else that helped out putting this together. You really should have included a credits page so we know who you are.
