Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - early 80's OLMO with campy nuovo record??

I have had this early 80's OLMO for a bunch of years now, sitting, unfortunately. I'm 5'9 and I can barely straddle the thing, I tried my hardest to make it 'my bike' but its too high off the ground for comfortable stops and its too long from seat to handlebars the few times I took it out on some long day rides. and its very sad because this is the bike I always wanted when I was growing up in the early 80's, a pure italian racer, nothing else. it has campagnolo nuovo record derailleurs front and rear, modolo speedy brakeset, san marco vintage leather seat, campy seat post and post retainer nut, its got a miche crank and bars, it used to have mavic gold rims with goodyear tires but it got stolen and the dumb ******* rode it all around town with 2 flats before I found it, so now its got no wheels or tires. I dont know what to do, I liked riding it, I mean I felt damn special hopping on this thing, even if it didnt fit me, I knew what it was, what it stood for. but it wont fit me, so do I save the odds and bits for a vintage bike that will fit me someday and sell the frame or do I sell it as is with no wheel but pretty much complete, or do I buy some decent used wheels, some new hand wraps and sell it as a runner to extract the maximum value? in your opinion what do you think its worth? I look around and see people selling this frame bare for $200, I've seen many runners exactly like mine selling between 500U.S - 900 british pound. really its not money I want, I want a road bike, I want the same thing I wanted the day I got this bike. a road bike I could spend hours on, blasting up the mountains and pushing to its limits. I dont know if I should trade this bike for a complete road bike straight up, I've had a few people chomping at the bit for it. and lastly, I dont care if its vintage or newer but people seem to be caught up in the romance of old road bikes, I mean excessivly. are they that great to ride? I mean I coulda had a 1997 GIANT Kronos the other day for 200 bucks, thats a deal to me. yet theres these people selling old raleigh super records and puegeots for the same or more, is it supply n demand or are they better, more enjoyable to ride than offering from the last 20 years? sorry to ramble but ya it wont fit me, do I get the most value selling it bare, selling it as is with no wheels, or buying wheels and selling it as a runner. seeing wht theyre going for, I wanna put some wheels on it, selling for a few hundred and buy a used GIANT or CANNONDALE maybe 10 years old for my first road bike foray. what do you think is fair and right to do, sell for?

Wow. Just to try and understand your rambling post I had to do some editing.

Personally, I would not find much joy in riding a bike that is way too big for me. If I were you I would fix the Olmo up and sell it. Then I would buy a bike that fits me. Correct fit makes a huge difference in riding comfort.

Sell it...simply becasuse it doesnt fit. If you can $500 U.S. as it sits sell it now. In my eyes thats a good selling price.

Be patient, very patient. You can replace it with something that fits with Campy Nuovo Record for about the same price but you must be patient and willing ot wait for the right bike at the right price in the right size.

Photographs are needed for any accurate valuation. And, if you want to consider selling locally, your location would help immensely.

But, it's safe to say that parting it out generally nets the most money (but obviously requires more time and work).

You might want to take and post photos, and then list it in the trade section here.

Where are you located, and more importantly what size is the Olmo, and most importantly please post a pic or four of the bike. Is it anything like the one in this thread?
