Track Cycling - Track bike graveyard

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Found this lot of track bikes and parts here in outback Australia. Most of the bikes are Hoffy with an interesting 5 star Malvern star with the stars in Southern Cross formation. Also a titanium frame with brooke seat and no wheels and a Gimondi road frame.

Nice old path racers there, some of them. :D
You can send me one of em if you want. :p I'll give it a good home. 56 Cm is the perfect size for a track frame for me. ;)

Awesome find dude. Do you have a story to go along with this?
I live in North Queensland Australia and the owner of this lot (soon to be mine ) was the president of his local cycle club for 40 years .His boys have cut a few frames up over the years to use as sleeves for projects they were working on and at one stage were going to save money on reo for a concrete slab for a new shed. I have been promised they won't touch them now, Here are some more photo's

Wow, with some of that info you should try and dig back and research the club a bit. You might be able find some of the old owners of those bikes. Restoring bikes that old to new looking and perfectly ridable condition is a cool hobby. Ive got a few vintage track bikes done like that now.

Wow...just Wow. This April here in Nashville, Tn, USA there's a local bike club sponsoring the first of what will be a yearly event a/t local auto race track. 80 laps and each team must have 3 women, 46x18 gearing, freewheel, platforms, straight or drop hbs...no bullhorns, frt and rr brakes, 2 bikes and a limit of 10 riders. Should prove to be interesting as there's not alot of singlespeed experience within the club. This is my first visit to the 'Track' section and I find this gem of a thread. I'm an old 'dumster diver' from way back and was just drooling over some of those old, gunked-up track bikes. Man, what a find.
It'd be an honor to get a couple of those old frames and bring them back to life. We have access to a sandblaster/powdercoating guy here locally who loves doing up our projects and always gives us good prices. He gives us a heads-up when he's got a bunch of stuff in the same color and lets us put our stuff in w/t auto frames, fenders, doors etc. That's his bread and butter. I've done 2 so far and my friend has done 3.
Currently, I'm reading a book on the life of Marshall 'Major' Taylor and there are several photos of his bikes. Funny how this was in 1895-1910 and the geometry hasn't changed very much for track bikes. Anyway would like to do one up w/a red head tube, tape and rims w/black frame, saddle, spokes, hubs, pedals, calipers, levers and tires w/red stripes. That was his look. Anyway, good on ya, mate! Congrats on the find.

i don't mean to add to the list of people wanting stuff, but i would be interested in one. i don't do track racing, but i would definately give a frame tlc
that's freaking awesome. I bet you won't send any of this to anyone, but I'd be so down for a frame.
Granted, I bet there aren't any in the 50-52cm range.
